Here's how to ease your puppy into the grooming world
Being handled, loud noises and being around other dogs is all a new experience for your beautiful puppy. There are two stages in your puppies life when they get introduced to what grooming is.
Slowly easing your pet into grooming will do the following:
- They become a groomable pet by learning to sit for longer periods of time.
- They get used to the washing, brushing and drying instruments.
- Less fear and anxiety.
- Lower grooming costs.
- Healthy life long coats
You can start introducing your puppy to brushing instruments and handling their body before 12 weeks old.
From 12-16 weeks you can bring them to your groomer to do a intro to grooming.
They will be:
- Bathed
- Dried
- Brushed
- Clippers are turned and the puppy hears the noise and feels the vibration. (Do not clip the hair until after 16 weeks)
With this introduction it will make your at home maintenance and their grooming experience something they will look forward to.
